I’m a music junkie. The ultimate relaxation for me is careening down the mountain either on my bike or on my snowboard with my favorite music playing in my ear buds. My favorite music is all music. If it’s music, I’m a fan. Except country (Johnny Cash excluded), which I have yet to really understand, I guess. But for all of my love of music, creating music is not my strong suit. I’m a terrible singer and if you prize your musical instrument, you may want to refrain from handing it to me. My dancing is legend but not for the reasons I’d like it to be. But none of that stops me from wanting to make music.
I’ve tried singing, drums and when I was a kid, piano, of course. For whatever reason, I wasn’t able to make the music in my head. That’s changing with the music app, Mixman Spin Control. For me, this app is a bit like musical training wheels. I upload songs I like and then I can play around with them to make new music that isn’t terrible. It’s actually pretty good. And I can save my remixes on Facebook so all of my friends can see that I really am able to make music beyond the screeching and warbling they’ve tolerated on road trips.
